new bear forms in upcoming patch!

wednesday night i missed raid and the guild downed the first 2 chambers and killed hodir. awesome job guys…we are about a month old now and have only raided 3 weeks.

last night we downed freya and then attempted thorim. i think it took 3 attempts on him. last week our attempt on him was piss poor and we lacked the dps needed and missed him by 4million health. this week though we did not have that issue and downed him pretty easily. the only way we wiped was the group that went into the tunnel, dying.
the beginning you just kill the pat in the middle of the room and then some chick start babbling about how we come to kill thorim and he needs to destroy us, bla bla bla.
you need to have 2 groups, one group to go into a tunnel, a gauntlet type thing. 2 tanks, 2 healers and about 6 or 7 ranged dps. i for one have not been there so i was not paying attention as to what you need to do. the other group, the one i was in, stays behind in the room and the tank just picks up the adds that pop up all the time and the dps just kill them off. it gets pretty intense after a while. once the gauntlet group has finished killing mini bosses and finished the gauntlet they come back to where we are and phase 3 starts. this is pretty hectic as there is this lightning arc he does which does insane damage, the poor melee dps has to be moving most of the time to avoid dying, healers have an insane job, as phase 2 is intense too and half way in phase 3 some of the healers go oom. well that happened last week but this week i had mana regen pots and mana regen food so that helped me tons!
was good to see thorim downed so easily. i got my first ulduar loots. T8 helm *bounce*
we decided to give mimiron a try. wow, what a fight he is. managed to see 3 of his 4 phases. but i’ll write up about it when we down him.

freya - 14/05/09

very easy fight once you get the hang of it. 1 tank take care of freya, one off-tank to take care of the adds that spawn and then another off-tank to take care of the big tree that comes out.
it’s all about dpsing the adds down quickly enough before the next wave of adds come. the trick is not to dps them all down and die immediately but to get the “bigger” add in the group down to 15% and then only to AOE or whatever them all down. there are about 5 or 6 waves that come at you before they stop spawning then it’s a matter of dpsing freya down and staying away from the roots that appear.

i decided to play around with themes and stuff and came across this one. i am not too sure what to think about it atm but it caught my eye.
i tend to enjoy a very dark themes as my previous theme was with the storm clouds. i asked my wife about this theme and she was like, it just simply is not you.
my past themes have been more dark, anger, frustration related and maybe this time i’m opting for a more calming, serenity type. woosaaa?

i have decided to put a photo album on here. i have so many photos i have taken over the past 5 years it is not funny.
i am gonna go through them and pick ones that are awesome, cool, wicked and totaly out this world, haha.

why do people use gentoo? i’m not saying it’s an aweful distro but the installation process is tedious and long. omg. it’s not even funny!

debian takes me at minimum 10 minutes to get me to a working system. i have been installing gentoo now for the last 3 to 4 hours. yes, this includes downloading the frikking stage3, portage and compiling the kernel. which btw, the kernel build is still going.

again i ask, why do people use gentoo?

*UPDATE* took me 2 hours to reinstall the gentoo machine. and this was me working on it without any breaks and i knew what i was doing >.< wow! simply amazing!

i have not blogged in a while for the reason, too damn lazy i used to be so good at updating my blog but either i’m too busy during the day or when i do actually want to blog i have nothing to blog about. i need that to change and i guess the only way to do that is to pickup a few things i have seemed to let slide.

• i have really neglected my poor camera lately and have not taken a picture in at least 3 months :O
• i need to document work or howtos. i have been very slack with actually posting them here. i have them all on paper but just not anywhere else.
• learn new things, e.g programming language like python  or php.
• take up an extramural activity again?
