why do people use gentoo? i’m not saying it’s an aweful distro but the installation process is tedious and long. omg. it’s not even funny!
debian takes me at minimum 10 minutes to get me to a working system. i have been installing gentoo now for the last 3 to 4 hours. yes, this includes downloading the frikking stage3, portage and compiling the kernel. which btw, the kernel build is still going.
again i ask, why do people use gentoo?
*UPDATE* took me 2 hours to reinstall the gentoo machine. and this was me working on it without any breaks and i knew what i was doing >.< wow! simply amazing!
