i came across this video which to me is so epically awesome i just had to show you guys. even though it was from EVO 2004
Daigo Umehara is a renowned arcade fighting video game player. he specializes in 2D arcade fighting games, mainly those released by Capcom. Known as “The Beast” in the west and “Umehara” or “Ume” in Japan. check more on his bio on wikipedia
what makes this simply epic is the following as someone explained it:
he didnt block, he parried, which is harder to do than a block… you don’t lose damage when you parry, but each kick/punch has to be countered one by one… so each punch/kick thrown by chun-li was properly parried by Daigo, and he even parried in the air right before his final attack… what’s epic is what lead to Daigo getting so pissed, chun li kept using her special and draining Daigo, which sent him into that frenzy you? see above.
well here is the famous video, enjoy!
i had to do some work from home tonight so i ssh’d into my desktop computer at work, from my home firewall with in another screen session, started up another screen session on my work desktop machine ; then i forgot my shortcut keys for my firewall and my work desktop machine for screen is different (too lazy to change the damn config). anyhoo, i opened up a new terminal with no current screen sessions on and resumed to ssh back into my work desktop machine and then just resume my screen session. i then got the message that the screen session was no longer valid or crashed. i then checked my original window i had first opened up and saw this and i laughed at the awesome error message it had spewed.
