chances of a man winning an argument

so it’s that time of the year that every blogger is going nuts about. yes, it’s the 2010 SA Blog Awards. it’s that time of the year that people are going to spam your twitter, facebook, friendfinder, reddit, digg, email, IMs and whatever means they can think of to vote for thier blog as the best in SA and why.
we all know that these things are won by how popular you are and who has the biggest penpeople following. he who has the most traffic wins no?
up until a month ago i liked to blog but i just got a tad annoyed when certain people blog the same shit you blog about a week after you do and they get all the traffic. yes i am jealous, but i posted it first on my blog and they get the credit. yes this will be falling on deaf ears but i want to rant about it.
you get the certain people who blog their minds in creative ways and write their own stories. certain people just copy off others and get away with it and that just pisses me off.
have a look at 6000 miles from civilisation and you will see what i mean about great write ups. i must say, this blog is by far one of the best ones i have come across. a genius.
i am guilty when it comes to this as i have just been posting funny comics or videos i have come across. i just wanted traffic to come to my blog and to make people laugh.
as a friend said to me 2 weeks ago….he was feeling down and came to my blog and ended up in tears of laughter. that made me all warm and fuzzy inside. i just suck at writing.
i know i sound like sour grapes but i wanted to get that off my chest (again).
now go nominate me for SA Blog Awards 2010 and don’t forget to confirm your email address on the right hand side of that page or else.
this is just too cute for words, i was literally in tears from laughter!
their determination is awesome!
who could forget jimmy jump trying to put a hat on the world cup trophy at the finals in SA, but now he was spotted at the St. Pauli vs Racing Santander preseason game in Germany where he ran onto the field with a big St. Pauli flag, got the ball ran to the edge of the box, did a few step overs and tried to chip the keeper! the then managed to run away from the stewards who clearly are unfit and can’t run.
bravo jimmy…the crowed loved it!
this could become a whole new meme video for various other stuffs. AHAHAH!

i’ve been anticipating and salivating about the release of starcraft 2 for months now and monday night was finally the time i got my hands on the collectors edition! I pre-ordered the collectors edition a few months ago and paid for it as early as possible to make sure i got a copy. I went to BT Games in Tygervalley who had a midnight launch from 10pm – 1am and got there at 10pm and a queue was already formed. Stood in line for the initial “show your receipt and then they process it and put your copy aside.” My copy was right there but they may only release it at midnight, bastards. so just stood around chatted to some guys until midnight and they started to hand out the orders.
got home just after 1am and unpacked the box and put everything in the box to one side and grabbed the game disc and started installing it. after 2 initial patches had to be updated, i was ready to play! i only managed to play the first mission and decided to go sleep and wakeup earlier than to play all night.
all i can say is, WOW! blizzard are yet to disappoint with ANY of their games. starcraft2 is just awesomely put together and the game play is outstanding. the graphics are superb and the detail is phenomenal.
the storyline is pretty much what you expect from starcraft but it is still very well put together. a few old faces, a few new ones and some interesting new allies and enemies. the gameplay has some sort of variety in the missions and makes you want to see what the next one is like as they are fun and enjoyable to play.
what makes starcraft2 different from the first one is that you can research new technologies from the zerg and protoss for you terran units and buildings, upgrade units and buildings and also hire some mercenaries. you also sometimes have to make decisions which affects your relationship with certain people or allies and enemies. you also have an achievement system where you complete certain scenarios in missions and you get achievement points, just like world of warcraft’s. you don’t get to use those points for anything, it’s more of a “i have more points than you, which makes me cooler than you!”
oh oh oh! and another kickass feature blizzard introduced is the realid which you can now add friends who have battle.net account to your friend list across blizzard gaming platforms. this means that my friends who play world of warcraft can chat/talk to me while i play starcraft! how awesome is that?
i’m not doing a detailed detailed review as i do not want to spoil it for the rest.
if starcraft2 impressed me this much, i do not want to think what diablo III is going to be like!
here is what was all in the collectors edition:

with Starcraft II being released next week the 27th another trailer was released this week and i just got goosebumps and cannot wait for midnight on monday night!
need to clean my keyboard now.
